Calling someone in Vietnam from another country can be a tricky, expensive process. Luckily, if you have all of the right codes, it can be a lot easier. If calling through the phone, dial your country's exit code, followed by 8-4 and the mobile or landline number of the person you're calling. If you have access to Wi-Fi and have a Wi-Fi capable device, you can save money and effort by calling through an app.

Dial your country's exit code. When you want to call someone in Vietnam and you're in a different country, the first thing you'll need to do is dial your country's exit code in order to get the call out of your country. These vary from country to country but many are 0-0 or 0-1-1. For example, the exit code for the United States is 0-1-1.^{[1]

Take the number of the Vietnamese person, save it into the mobile and then save it on WhatsApp and then call. Or, if you have truecaller, then see the options after saving the number and you will get a WhatsApp call.

Warnings

Before calling someone in Vietnam, keep in mind that it may be a different time there than it is in your country. Look up the time zone that the person is in before calling to make sure that you're calling at an appropriate time.
