The center tear is a method of obtaining information a spectator has written down, in the act of tearing the piece of paper.

Steps

  1. 1
Fold a piece of paper in half, then in half again, so it is in quarters.
  2. 2
Draw a box in the middle of the paper, indicating where you would like the spectator to draw a name or object. then have them write. have them fold the sheet where you have folded it.

  3. 3
You will notice by feeling the edges, some are open with loose pieces of paper, and some are folded. If you folded correctly, there should be a folded area on the top edge, and the right edge, depending on how you are looking and holding the slip of paper.
  4. 4
Holding the paper in the correct fashion, tear the paper in half, so you have two strips. the strip on the right has the center with the spectators writing on it. With the folded part of that piece up, tear it in half, in the opposite direction yo did for the other one (width-wise)
  5. 5
You now have two smaller pieces of paper. Take the one on the left, and under the cover of your fingers, slip it into finger palm. You now have the center.
  6. 6
Throw the torn pieces, with the exception of the finger palmed one on the table.
  7. 7
To glimpse the middle go down to get a lighter from underneath the table, and unfold and read the finger palmed slip.
  8. 8
When you come up, leave the center and burn the other torn pieces.
  9. 9
Reveal the word and watch them gasp and throw money at you!
