Jello shots are a fun addition to any party, since they are both portable and delicious. Sex on the Beach Jello Shots taste sweet and summery, and will remind your guests of sipping drinks on the beach. You can make 20 Sex on the Beach Jello Shots by mixing up your orange Jello, adding alcohol, and letting the shots chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Ingredients

  • 34 cup (180 mL) of boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 mL) of cold water
  • 1 3-ounce (85g) packet of orange Jello gelatin
  • 1/2 cup (120 mL) of vodka
  • 1/2 cup (120 mL) of peach schnapps
  • 1/2 cup (120 mL) of cranberry juice

Mixing the Ingredients

  1. 1
Bring 34 cup (180 mL) of water to a boil. Use a pot that can hold the water so that it doesn’t overflow. Bring your water to a roiling boil with lots of bubbles.[1]
    • Be sure to watch your pot as you boil it to make sure it doesn’t boil over.
  2. 2
Pour the boiling water into a large metal mixing bowl. Use a bowl big enough to hold all of your liquid ingredients, including the alcohol and cranberry juice later on. A metal mixing bowl is ideal, since boiling hot water could damage a plastic one.[2]

Warning: Use caution as you pour your boiling water. Do this over the sink so you don’t splash yourself or others.

  3. 3
Stir your orange Jello packet into to the water. Use a metal whisk to stir the Jello in, making sure it dissolves completely. Be sure that there are no clumps of powder left at the bottom of the bowl.[3]
  4. 4
Mix in 1 cup (240 mL) of cold water to the mixture. Cold water will cool down your Jello mixture and help it set more easily. Add cold water to your mixing bowl and whisk it in thoroughly.[4]
    • You can use filtered water or cold water straight from the tap.
  5. 5
Mix your vodka, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice into the Jello. Add 12 cup (120 mL) of vodka, 12 cup (120 mL) of peach schnapps, and 12 cup (120 mL) of cranberry juice to your Jello and whisk them in thoroughly. Make sure all your liquids are spread throughout evenly.[5]

Chilling the Mixture

  1. 1
Set out 20 plastic shot cups onto a baking tray. If your shot cups have lids, take them off. Set all of your cups on a baking tray so that they are easier to transport.[6]
    • You can buy plastic shot cups at most party or home goods stores. They might even be called “Jello Shot Cups.”
  2. 2
Pour an even amount of your mixture into each shot cup. You can pour straight from your bowl, or use a measuring cup to divvy it up more easily. Fill the shot cups up to the brim.[7]
    • If you spill any of your mixture, be sure to wipe it up before it dries using a paper towel. Jello can stain countertops and cloth easily.
  3. 3
Put the baking tray in the fridge and chill for 2 hours. Your Jello shots will harden in the fridge. Make sure to place the tray in an area that won’t get bumped or cause your shots to spill.[8]

Tip: Save your Jello shots for up to 7 days by keeping them in the fridge.

  4. 4
Put the lids on the shot cups and serve them to your guests. The best thing about Jello shots is that you can walk around with them. Add a lid to each of your Jello shot cups and then hand them out to your guests.[9]
    • If you want a little extra flavor, add some whipped cream on top of each Jello shot.

Yes. Pineapple juice goes especially well with variants that include Malibu or coconut rum. Add equal parts pineapple and cranberry juice to give your shots a more tropical vibe.

Try substituting in another type of fruity schnapps or liqueur, like melon or raspberry. Experiment with different flavors until you find the combination you like best!
