Anyone can make a fruit kabob, but some people just seem to have a better knack for it than others. This method is mainly about making an organized and delicious fruit kabob.

Ingredients

  • 5 different types of fruits

Steps

  1. 1
Choose which kind of grapes you'll use. You can either use white (Concord) grapes, which are the green ones, red grapes or purple grapes. You can also alternate. Note that the purple ones have seeds, and some red ones do, so keep this in mind if you're serving someone who doesn't like seeds.
  2. 2
Choose 5 different types of fruits. You could use any of these:
    • Cantaloupe
    • Honeydew melon
    • Watermelon
    • Apples (any type)
    • Oranges (any type)
    • Bananas (chocolate-dipped ones are great, too)
    • Strawberries
    • Plums/prunes
    • Apricots, nectarines, tangerines, tangelos, clementines, etc. (fresh or dried)
    • Lemon
    • Lime
    • Pears (any type)

Or feel free to make your own selections.
  4. 4
    Gather your skewers and fruit.
  5. 5
Decide on a pattern for your fruits to go in. Usually there's a grape on either end, and then a fruit, followed by a different fruit, followed by a grape, and so on. An example: grape, cantaloupe, grape, melon, grape, apricot, grape, plum, grape, apple, grape. If you're using different colors of grapes, you need to account for those, too.
  6. 6
Stick a grape onto the far end of the skewer.
  7. 7
Choose a fruit and add that next to the grape.
  8. 8
Follow this process for the remainder of the skewer:
    • Add a grape.
    • Add a fruit.
    • Add a grape
    • Add a fruit
  9. 9
Add one more grape and set this kebab aside.
  10. 10
Repeat to make as many kebabs as you need.

You can, but it's recommended to use wooden skewers since they're easier to handle.
  • Question
What kind of chocolate should you use to drizzle over them?

It's your choice. Dark chocolate is healthier and it goes great with fruit, milk chocolate is creamier and sweeter, and will be softer to bite into.
  • Question
Can I make this the night before?

Yes, you can chill it in the fridge and eat them the next day. Note that the fruit may brown slightly, but that will not effect its taste.
