Eyebrow piercings look stunning, and many people are enthusiastic about getting them done. The problem with them is that they can cost a great deal of money. If you're brave and careful about safety, it is possible to pierce your eyebrow.

Steps

  1. 1
Sterilize your equipment. First, boil your needle for five to ten minutes on a stove. Keep your needle and your jewelry in rubbing alcohol. If you have newly bought them, this might not be necessary, as they would already be sterile, but it is highly recommended that you sterilize them too, just to be on the safe side.[1]
    • Avoid using cotton balls o swabs to clean your jewelry.
  2. 2
Locate where you want your eyebrow piercing. Evenly mark two points using a pen or a marker, wherever you want your piercing to be.[2]

  3. 3
If you have a low tolerance for pain, you might want to numb the area with the aid of an ice cube or numbing gel.[3] The numbing gel is a better option, as ice only numbs the first layer of skin, and in addition to that, it tightens the pores of the skin, making it harder for the hollow needle to go through.
  4. 4
Pinch the skin between the two points that you marked, using a clamp, or your other hand. Pull the skin out, away from the eye.[4]
  5. 5
Poke the needle through from one point to the other. Push the needle out from the other point.[5]
  6. 6
Gently remove the needle from your eyebrow and then insert and fasten your chosen jewelry.[6]
  7. 7
Do not remove your jewelry for a minimum of two months. Clean it daily with rubbing alcohol or a saline solution.[7]

Community Q&A

  • Question
How badly does it hurt when it goes through and the numbing is gone?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
It depends on one's pain tolerance. Because an eyebrow piercing is a surface piercing and doesn't go through any cartilage, it doesn't hurt too much, at least in comparison to other types of piercings.
  • Question
Can I use any kind of needle?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, but a needle designed for piercings is ideal.
  • Question
What size needle do I need for piercing my eyebrow?

Usually a 14 gauge needle, as you put in 16 gauge jewelry. It also helps to use the 14 gauge hollow needle, as then you can slide the jewelry into the needle so it follows through to the other side.
