    Think of the reasons why you want to learn more about Witchcraft. Use a journal and write down a few reasons. The art of witchcraft can be used as a tool to manipulate others, although most cases are frowned upon by many modern Witches.[1]

    Visit a library, or take a look on Amazon for books by authors such as Janet and Stuart Farrar, Phyllis Curott, Scott Cunningham and Patricia Telesco. These are excellent introductory books. It's suggested that you look at some books by Basil E. Crouch. Look for "The Darkside Of The Moon A Complete Course In Magic And Witchcraft". It's a great start to learning more about the art of Wiccans, Pagans, and witches. Read the bibliographies of these first books to find ideas for further reading.[2]

    Do not be afraid to try out what you learn. Always have counter spells ready when it goes bad and make sure to have banishing spells and purification spells. The best way is to learn how to meditate and learn through your own experience.[3]

    A spell or ritual is simply putting your intention out there. In cases where you are having extreme emotions, you may not feel that way later, but for a moment you do. For example, if you were angry and shouted at someone, whatever you said would be an intention. The stronger the intention, the more likely your words will ring true. So if you are angry, you may accidentally put a curse on someone. I try to watch my words, especially when I'm feeling emotional.

  • Do not accept training from anyone who feels 'off' to you. Likewise, be aware of the fact that certain traditions within the Pagan community have a practice known as going skyclad. Things like jars or spells can be related via a memory card and folders along with pictures of the ingredients and txt documents instead of speaking the intent or chanting.
