Have you ever wanted to write a novel that is filled with creatures that no one has ever heard of? Or write a story full of wizards and spell casting? For tips on how to do it, read below.

Steps

  1. 1
Get your inspiration. What kind of magical story are you writing?
    • Princess, Prince, Wizard
    • Curse, eerie setting
  2. 2
    Write down your characters':
    • Looks
    • Personality (Mary Sues' make many stories boring)
    • Background (Did their parents die? Are they royalty?)
    • Flaw (Which is most important. No one likes a perfect person in a perfect world. that makes the story boring.)

  3. 3
Get your plot. You must know how your story will start and end. You can not end the book with a cliffhanger, unless it will have a sequel. You can't make it go on and on and on. this will make readers stop reading your book. Try stopping after three books or so. Try to limit yourself to ten at the most.
  4. 4
Last, you must give it a BANG! What will your readers be interested in this story? What details will you have to put in to keep your reader going on?
  5. 5
Imagine you are the person. What will you do? Who will you meet? What do you do? Where do you go? How did you get there?

You should not try to avoid the ideas, especially if they are good ones. Simply jot down all the ideas you get in a notepad, and select which ones could be used for your current story, and which ones would be better left for another story.

Perfection can have different meanings for different people. If you want to write a good story, though, planning and drafts will take you a long way. Try to let your imagination flow free, then edit out any parts you are not happy with.

Warnings

  • Don't use another author's ideas! There are so many fantasy books out there, it's difficult to be completely original, but be sure not to copy. Be creative with your own original ideas.

  • Don't offend any type of religion. Many books with a magical world have a certain religion based on a real religion say that this is bad. Your book might just go flush up in the toilet.
