2023–24 Newport County A.F.C. season

The 2023–24 Newport County A.F.C. season is the club's 11th consecutive season in EFL League Two. Newport's 71st season in the English Football League and 103rd season of league football overall. They will also compete in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.

Newport County reached the second round of the 2023–24 EFL Cup, losing on penalties to Brentford of the Premier League after drawing 1-1 in normal time.[1]

In October 2023 Newport County Supporters Trust members voted in favour of selling a controlling interest 52% of shares in the club to former Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins, subject to EFL approval.[2]

Pre-season and friendlies

On 18 May, Newport County announced their first pre-season fixture, against Undy.[20] A day later, a trip to face Bristol City was confirmed.[21] On June 5, a third pre-season opposition was added, against Yeovil Town.[22] The club later announced a fourth friendly, against Pontypridd United.[23] On 20 June, County added a trip to face Sheffield.[24]
