2025 San Antonio mayoral election
The 2025 San Antonio mayoral election will be held in May 2025 to determine the successor of term-limited mayor Ron Nirenberg.

Background
Incumbent mayor Ron Nirenberg is term-limited, having been elected four prior times in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023. Nirenberg is expected to be the longest serving mayor of San Antonio since Henry Cisneros. This election will mark the first time since 2009 that no incumbent has been on the ballot.[1]

As early as October 2023, there was speculation in the media as to who would be running for the election.

- Melissa Cabello Havrda, distinct 6 councilwoman.
- Manny Peláez, district 8 councilman.
Potential
- Greg Brockhouse, former district 6 councilman and mayoral candidate in 2019 and 2021.[2]
- Adriana Rocha Garcia, district 4 councilwoman.
- Richard Perez, former district 4 councilman from 2003 to 2009 and lieutenant to Mayor Phil Hardberger.
- Diego Bernal, Democratic representative for district 123 of the Texas House of Representatives
- Rey Saldaña, former district 4 councilman.
- Alberto “Beto” Altamirano, tech executive
- Gina Ortiz Jones, Democratic candidate for Texas' 23rd congressional district in 2018 and 2020.

- Trish DeBerry, 2022 Republican candidate for Bexar County Judge, 2009 mayoral candidate, and CEO of Centro San Antonio.
- Rolando Pablos, former Texas Secretary of State from 2017 to 2018.
