The Central District of Avaj County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان آوج) is in Qazvin province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Avaj.

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as the former Avaj District of Buin Zahra County) was 22,273 in 5,607 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 26,611 people in 7,839 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 25,532 inhabitants in 7,984 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Avaj County.[2]
