Central District (Mehdishahr County)

The Central District of Mehdishahr County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان مهدی‌شهر) is in Semnan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Mehdishahr.

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as a part of the former Mehdishahr District of Semnan County) was 20,581 in 5,473 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 25,114 people in 7,105 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county to establish Mehdishahr County.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 30,781 inhabitants in 9,531 households.[2]
