Chakhmaq, Razavi Khorasan

Chakhmaq (Persian: چخماق, also Romanized as Chakhmāq; also known as Chakmak and Chaqmāq)[3] is a village in Soleyman Rural District of Soleyman District, Zaveh County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,065 in 482 households, when it was in the former Jolgeh Zaveh District of Torbat-e Heydarieh County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,478 people in 594 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Zaveh County.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,780 people in 542 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
