Ilakkiya (2022 TV series)

Elakiya or Ilakiya [2] is an 2022 Indian Tamil-language television series, starring Hima Bindhu and Nandan Loganathan in lead roles. It was premiered on 10 October 2022 airing on Sun TV from Monday to Saturday. It is also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.[3][4]

Casting

Nandan Loganathan[5] was cast in the male lead role as Gowtham and Hima Bindu cast as the female lead role as Ilakkiya. Actress Roopa Sree was cast as Janaki but on she quit the series and it was replaced by Gayathiri Shashtry. Actor Bharath Kalyan was cast as Gowtham's father.

Rani selected to portray the role of Bhairavi (Gowtham's aunt) who played an negative role, but in January 2023 she quit the series and it was replaced by Priya Prince after her role as Menaka in Kannana Kanne[6] and Sushma Nair cast as Anjali in a Negative role. In July 2023, Jay Srinivas Kumar had quit the series and it was replaced by Aravish Kumar.[7][8][9]
