Kahak, Qom

Kahak (Persian: كهك; also, Kahak-e Qom)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Kahak County, Qom province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,766 in 797 households, when it was in the former Nofel Loshato District of Qom County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,906 people in 883 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,837 people in 1,480 households.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county and divided into the Central and Fordo Districts, the former including the newly formed Kermejegan Rural District, and the latter containing the new Khaveh Rural District. Kahak was designated the capital of Kahak County.[4]
