Adopt Me!

Adopt Me! is a massively multiplayer online game where the nominal focus is players pretending to be either parents adopting a child, or children getting adopted, though the de facto focus is around adopting and caring for many different pets, who can be traded with other players.[4] As of October 2022, the game had been played upwards of thirty billion times.[5] Adopt Me! was averaging 600,000 concurrent players as of June 2020, making it the most popular game on Roblox.[4] Due to the high cost of pets within the game, with some rare pets selling for up to US$100, a large number of scammers have risen up within the game. As the primary user base of Adopt Me! is on average younger than the rest of Roblox, they are especially susceptible to falling for scams.[6][7] Uplift Games, the studio behind the game, has accumulated over $16 million in revenue, mostly from microtransactions.[8][9] The game won three awards in the 2020 Bloxy Awards.[10]

Brookhaven RP

Brookhaven RP (also known as Brookhaven) is a massively multiplayer online game where players can role-play with other users.[11] The game was cited as a key example of the roleplay genre that several prominent Roblox games are a part of.[12] Brookhaven RP once had around 800,000 concurrent players at one time.[13] The game was nominated for "Favorite Video Game" at the 2022 Kids' Choice Awards[14] and 2023 Kids' Choice Awards.[15]

Doors

Doors (stylized in all caps) is a first-person[16] roguelite horror escape room video game developed by indie game developers LSPLASH and Red, based on another Roblox game, Rooms. Players open doors and go through hotel rooms through trial and error[17] to progress through the game and escape.[18] Players can get items to help them progress through the game,[19][20] while creatures called "entities" (such as Screech, Figure[21] and Seek) either try to kill the player in various ways or help them (like Guiding Light, El Goblino and Jeff[22]).[23] Players can display how they are progressing through the game by showing off one selected achievement and how many times they died.[24]

Doors was released on August 10, 2022.[25] In November 2022, the game hit 1 billion visits,[26] A major update revamping the hotel was released on January 29, 2023, at 6 p.m. EST.[27] A nod to Rooms was added as part of said update, featuring a revamped version of the game as a secret level.[28] An April Fools' Day update added a temporary "Super Hard Mode", a harder version of the game that featured new entities, challenges and references to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Fortnite and Jeff the Killer.[29] On August 26, 2023, modifiers were added, allowing the player to change their game after beating it.[30] A second floor has been confirmed to be in development.[31][32]

Whitney Meers of PCGamesN described the horror element of the game as "too much for YouTubers to handle".[33] Carlos Mestre of TheGamer described the game as a "spine-chilling adventure" and said that the hotel is "Victorian era-esque".[34] On December, the game had a collaboration with Makeship for Screech plushies.[35][36] Subsequent collaborations with Makeship were for limited-time Seek plushies available until June 2, 2023[37][38][39] and El Goblino plushies available until September 1, 2023.[30] The game collaborated with another Roblox game, Tower Heroes, featuring El Goblino as a limited-time character.[40][41]

Each player's loadout can be customized with different weapons, of which can be further modified with a variety of different attachments. Each player can also customize their 'skills', granting them a variety of different buffs in-game.[50]

Since its release, the game has received widespread acclaim, primarily for its graphics, which have been described as "not looking like Roblox" and "being visual indistinguishable from Call of Duty" by critics.[51][52][53] The game has been further directly compared to releases such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.[54] It has also collaborated with the metal band Metallica.[55]

This caused the game to be placed as "under review" by Roblox on February 16, 2022, but the game got put back up a few hours later. At the same time, it was announced that parties were to be removed.[71]
