Maa Jaleshwari Temple
Maa Jaleshwari Temple is a Shakti temple located on the bank of River Kosi in Bhawanpura, Bhagalpur in the Indian state of Bihar. It is a Hindu pilgrimage centre devoted to Maa Jaleshwari (Maa Durga).[1][2] She is regarded as "Goddess Of Water" .

The temple is one of the pilgrimage centres in Ang Pradesh region of Bihar.
The main attraction of the temple is the idol of the goddess Jaleshwari, a form of Shakti who originated from Jal, the water of the nearby river. According to devotees, the idol of Jaleshwari increases in height slightly every year. It is believed that the village of Bhawanpura is safe from the anger of Kosi because of the blessings of Maa Jaleshwari. She blesses prosperity and happiness in the life of her devotees with a pure soul.
History
The idol of Maa Jaleshwari was established in the centre of the village of Bhawanpura in a hut like temple, which was later built up into one of the largest temples in the Bihpur of Bhagalpur.[3]
Events and Description
The temple sees an increase of pilgrims during Durga Puja(Navaratri) and almost all Hindu festivals. People of Bhawanpura start every good work in the name of Maa Jaleshwari. There is Jaleshwar Mahadev Shiv Temple and other Hindu idols situated next to it in the same temple campus.It is situated at the bank of Kosi River.
How to reach Maa Jaleshwari Temple
People of other parts of Bihar can reach here by taking train to Naugachia Railway Station which is 5 km away from the temple after which they can take any auto or tuk-tuk which will take to the village in 15–25 minutes.
Nearby villages can visit here by crossing the Ratanpura-Bhawanpura Bridge, a short bridge over Kosi.
People of Other side of Ganga which includes the district headquarters of Bhagalpur can visit by crossing the Vikramshila Setu .
Deoghar Airport is the Nearest functional Airport to the temple about 3.5–5 hours away by road.
