Makran, Iran
Makran (Persian: ماكران, also Romanized as Mākrān and Mākerān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Goharbaran-e Jonubi Rural District of Goharbaran District, Miandorud County, Mazandaran province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,601 in 448 households, when it was in Miandorud-e Bozorg Rural District of the former Miandorud District of Sari County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,660 people in 498 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of the new Miandorud County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,498 people in 509 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.
