Marathon Race Walking Mixed Relay
The Marathon Race Walking Mixed Relay will be a racewalking mixed relay organised by World Athletics on the Marathon's distance.[1]
Each athlete has to complete two legs of just over 10 km each, alternating in this order: male, female, male, female.
The first race, in order to qualify 22 teams for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, will be organised in Antalya, Turkey, during the 2024 World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships.[2] This new event is heavily criticised, especially because of the difficulty of fair race judging on a relatively short distance of 10 km each.[3]
