Milajerd

Milajerd (Persian: ميلاجرد, also Romanized as Mīlājerd; also known as Melājerd and Mīlājīrd)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Milajerd District of Komijan County, Markazi province, Iran. The 14th-century author Hamdallah Mustawfi listed Milajerd as one of the main villages in the Sharahin district under Hamadan.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 8,928 in 2,168 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 9,357 people in 2,490 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 9,288 people in 2,738 households.[2]
