Sarbaz

Sarbaz (Persian: سرباز, also Romanized as Sarbāz; also known as Qal‘eh-ye Sarbāz (English: Fort Sarbaz)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Sarbaz County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county.[4] The overwhelming majority of the city's inhabitants are ethnic Baluch who speak the Baluchi language.

At the 2006 census, its population was 1,047 in 234 households, when it was in the former Sarbaz District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,230 people in 293 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,020 people in 495 households.[2] After the census, the city was transferred to the Central District.[4]
