Cheshmeh Mahi, Ilam

Cheshmeh Mahi (Persian: چشمه ماهي, also Romanized as Cheshmeh Māhī; also known as Sāmān)[3] is a village in Darbid Rural District of Jazman District, Holeylan County, Ilam province, Iran, and serves as capital of the district.[4] The village is populated by Kurds.[5]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 816 in 161 households, when it was in Holeylan Rural District of the former Holeylan District of Chardavol County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 597 people in 148 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 827 people in 246 households.[2]

In 2020, the district was separated from the county, elevated to the status of Holeylan County, and divided into two districts, each with two rural districts. The city of Towhid was designated the capital of the new county.[4][8][9]
