Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of nine "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of five rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[2]

Rewards

If the singer is good, the contestants win 20,000; if the singer is bad, the same amount is given to the bad singer instead.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestants with nine people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. Lip sync (French: Le playback)
The mystery singers are divided into three groups of three, and participate in a lip sync performance to one song each.
  2. Exhibition (French: Les pièces à conviction)
The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package in which one of the mystery singers of their choice discusses their life and musical qualifications.
  3. Performance (French: La performance)
The guest artist and contestants must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. It may unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on their identity.
  4. Concealed voice (French: Cachez la voix)
The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.
  5. Interrogation (French: L'interview)
The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background

Development in this show began in September 2015 when the Shine Group initially announced that a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice is on the works, which did not furtherly respond from any respective broadcaster.[3] In February 2021, Groupe M6 was greenlit by redeveloping its shelved programme after six years of hiatus.[4] It is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production; the staff team is managed by director Guillaume Charles and producer Renaud Rahard.[5]
