Gvachvene sheni khma (Georgian: გვაჩვენე შენი ხმა, English: Show us your voice!) is a television mystery music game show in the country of Georgia, based on South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It premiered on Rustavi 2 on 12 September 2023.[1]

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of six "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and contestant(s) must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of three rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[lower-alpha 1]

Rewards

If the singer is good, the contestant wins ₾3,000; if the singer is bad, the same amount is given to the bad singer instead.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestant with six people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

  1. Phonogram (Georgian: ფონოგრამა)
    Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.
  2. Broken phone (Georgian: გატეხილი ტელეფონი)
    The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video package in which one of the mystery singers of their choice discusses their life and musical qualifications.
  3. Interrogation (Georgian: დაკითხვა)
    The guest artist and contestant may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.

Background

Production and development

An earlier report relating to the recently aired tenth season of original South Korean counterpart in February 2023 reveals that GeoMedia Group formally announced its development of the show,[2][3] which would later confirm by that said company in September 2023.[4][5] The staff team is managed by executive producers Telia Japaridze and Giorgi Khaburzania; producers Tamar Bochorishvili and Natia Dedanashvili; and director Nika Enukidze.

Naming

The official title for its Georgian counterpart is Gvachvene sheni khma (Georgian: გვაჩვენე შენი ხმა)[4][5] which is from Show us your voice!, a direct English translation of the German title Zeig uns Deine Stimme (for the third season of German counterpart), based on a catchphrase by host Daniel Hartwich.[6][7]
