Zarabad, Sistan and Baluchestan
Zarabad (Persian: زرآباد) is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Zarabad County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county and of Zarabad-e Sharqi Rural District.[3]

At the 2006 census, its population was 914 in 180 households, when it was a village in the former Zarabad district of Konarak County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 3,222 people in 711 households, by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,003 people in 876 households.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county to establish Zarabad County, two districts and four rural districts were formed, and the city of Zarabad was made the new county's capital.[3]
