Acanthocobitis pavonacea (McClelland, 1839)
Syntypes: SMF 68 (1)?, 9070 (1), 9090-91 (2).
Type locality: Assam, India [Brahmaputra basin].
Etymology: –aceus, having the nature of: pavo (= peacock), referring to peacock-like ocellus, or eyespot, on caudal peduncle.
