Bryconops Kner, 1858

• Type species: Bryconops alburnoides Kner, 1858

Etymology: –ops (= appearance), apparently reflecting Kner’s belief that genus could be “classified with the hither related species of the genus Brycon” (translation). (From: The ETYFish project)
