Name

Cynanchinae K.Schum. (1895)

• Type genus: Cynanchum L.
  

Note: Mahawoa placed here by Endress et al. (2014) but found to be an Asclepiadeae of uncertain subtribal relationships by Khanum et al. (2016). Except Schizostephanus and Pattalias most other genera subsumed into Cynanchum s.l. by Khanum et al. (2016) and Govaerts et al. (2022). Decanema Decne., Ann. Sci. Nat., Bot., sér. 2, 9: 338 (1838) has not been recently analysed but appears to have some affinity with Cynanchum, but see its taxon page for taxonomic problems with respect to a synonymy through Sarcostemma.
