Holotype: BMNH 1977.1.10.88. [Paratypes: BMNH 1977.1.10.89-90 (2), 1977.1.10.91 (1), 1977.1.10.92-105 (14)].
Type locality: Speke Gulf west of Nafuba Island, Lake Victoria [Victoria Nyanza], Tanzania, depth 10-12 meters.
