Ophiacantha rhachophora H.L. Clark, 1911
- Etymology: from Ancient Greek words for a "briar" and a "carrying", refers to the very thorny arm spines and tentacle scales
- Type locality: R/V “Albatross”, sta. 4902, 10-08-1906, Gotō Islands, 32° 30' 50" N 128° 34' 40" E., 254 m, gray sand, broken shells, bottom temperature 11.6°C.
- Holotype: USNM 25630
