Middle Armenian

Etymology

According to Ačaṙyan, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰeh₃g-, whence also dialectal բոկ (bok, burnt khoriz (a filling that consists of flour, butter and sugar)).[1][2] He also compares Udi бокӏи (boḳi, burnt; burnt bread), бокӏсун (boḳsun, to burn), but concludes that either the similarity is accidental or they are borrowed from Armenian.[3][2]
