From *հանգ (*hang, breath, rest), compare dialectal հանգ (hang), from Proto-Armenian *hangi-, from Proto-Indo-European *sm̥-kʷih₁-, from *sm̥- + *kʷyeh₁-, + -չ- (-čʿ-).

  1. (intransitive) to repose, to take repose, to be at ease; to rest, to cease from work, to relax, to refresh oneself
