Assuming it is Arabic, singulative noun from عَرَب (ʿarab), عَرْب (ʿarb), the verbal nouns of عَرَبَ (ʿaraba, “to flow sharply”) from the root ع ر ب (ʿ r b). The ultimate origin is subject to discussion, see Turkish araba for the possible Turkic origin.[1]
