Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish ياپمق (yapmak, to do, make, arrange), from Proto-Turkic *jap- (to make, create, arrange).[1] Cognate with Karakhanid [script needed] (yapmāq, to build), Old Uyghur [script needed] (yap-, to make).
