How to Make a Baby Bottle for Reborns

If you have a Reborn doll without a bottle, you can improvise. However, these suggestions are for a basic bottle; there is no formula and they are not suitable for direct feeding.

Simple Bottle

Fill a plain plastic doll feeding bottle with warm water. Pour a few tablespoons of flour into the bottle.

It will clump together. Use a butter knife to push the flour down into the water. Put the little nipple part on the bottle.

Shake it up and you've got a very basic baby bottle.

Detergent Filler

Get together a bottle, detergent (white, not see-through), yellow food coloring.

Select a doll feeding bottle and undo the lid.

Pour the detergent in the bottle.

Add a drop of yellow food coloring in the bottle. Shake or stir to distribute.

Seal the lid. Use silicone glue or a divider for the nipple, to make sure it stays in place.

Put on the lid. Shake.

Feed your reborn. Don't feed this to the doll; just make it look like you are.

A bottle divider comes in many NUK bottles, so for real babies, you can place the formula in the nipple and water in the bottle. Or you can use this to keep the "formula" out of the nipple for reborns. There is a greater chance of leaking with a bottle divider, and it is not as realistic. I prefer to seal my bottles with silicone glue; you can purchase this at Wal-Mart for about $4-6.

To seal a bottle, use some silicone glue (found at any craft store or your local home store). Start by turning the teat inside out and use the glue to seal all the pores (nipple and colic valves.) Let it dry and replace it on the bottle.

Warnings

In method one, don't leave alone for too long the flour drowns down to the bottom so you only see the water.
