Bavanat, Fars

Bavanat (Persian: بوانات, also Romanized as Bavānāt), formerly Surian (سوریان),[3][4] is a city in the Central District of Bavanat County, Fars province, Iran, serving as both capital of the district and of the county. It has an altitude of 2,857 metres (9,373 ft).[5]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 9,645 in 2,638 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 10,670 people in 3,030 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 9,776 people in 2,975 households.[2]
