Central District (Chavar County)

The Central District of Chavar County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان چوار) is in Ilam province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Chavar.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, the region's population (as a part of the former Chavar District of Ilam County) was 10,214 in 2,015 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 10,159 people in 2,339 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, there were 9,533 inhabitants in 2,477 households.[2]

After the census, the district was separated from the county, elevated to the status of Chavar County, and divided into two districts and four rural districts.[3]
