Central District (Karun County)

The Central District of Karun County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان کارون) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Kut-e Abdollah.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as Kut-e Abdollah Rural District of the Central District of Ahvaz County) was 91,299 in 16,921 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 89,477 people in 20,224 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 82,692 inhabitants in 21,803 households,[2] by which time the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Karun County.[3]
