Gowhar Kuh District

Gowhar Kuh District (Persian: بخش گوهرکوه) is in Taftan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Shirabad.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population (as Gowhar Kuh Rural District of the former Nukabad District of Khash County) was 9,100 in 1,887 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 8,383 people in 2,048 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 10,078 inhabitants in 3,024 households.[2]

In 2018, Nukabad District was separated from Khash County, elevated to the status of Taftan County, and divided into three districts, with the city of Nukabad as its only city and capital of the new county. Gowhar Kuh Rural District was elevated to the status of a district.[3]
