Jannatabad District

Jannatabad District (Persian: بخش جنت‌آباد) is in Salehabad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Jannatabad.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was (as Jannatabad Rural District of the former Salehabad District of Torbat-e Jam County) 10,087 in 2,129 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 9,610 people in 2,264 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, there were 8,162 inhabitants in 2,108 households.[2]

After the census, Salehabad District was separated from Torbat-e Jam County, and elevated to the status of Salehabad County. Jannatabad Rural District was separated from the new Central District to form Jannatabad District, containing the newly established Ostay Rural District.[3]
