Central District (Salehabad County)

The Central District of Salehabad County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان صالح‌آباد) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Salehabad.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as a part of the former Salehabad District of Torbat-e Jam County) was 33,125 in 7,367 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 36,085 people in 8,831 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 35,264 inhabitants in 9,377 households.[2]

After the census, Salehabad District was separated from Torbat-e Jam County, and elevated to the status of Salehabad County. Jannatabad Rural District was separated from the new Central District to form Jannatabad District, containing the newly established Ostay Rural District.[3]
