At the 2006 National Census, its population (as Khenejin Rural District of the Central District of Komijan County) was 10,317 in 2,611 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 12,924 people in 3,842 households, by which time the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Farahan County.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 12,757 inhabitants in 4,059 households.[2]
