Mohammadabad Rural District (Hamun County)

Mohammadabad Rural District (Persian: دهستان محمدآباد) is in the Central District of Hamun County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Mohammadabad.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the former Shib Ab District of Zabol County) was 14,489 in 3,440 households.[4] There were 13,641 inhabitants in 3,608 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 13,526 in 3,944 households. The largest of its 80 villages was Firuzehi, with 1,340 people.[2]

By the time of the census, Shib Ab District had been separated from Zabol County to form Hamun County. It was then divided into the Central and Teymurabad Districts.[3]
