Central District (Hamun County)

The Central District of Hamun County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان هامون) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Mohammadabad.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, the region's population (as a part of the former Shib Ab District of Zabol County) was 30,683 in 6,680 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 34,040 people in 8,539 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 34,570 inhabitants in 9,397 households,[2] by which time Shib Ab District had been separated from Zabol County to form Hamun County. It was then divided into the Central and Teymurabad Districts.[3]
