Prior to its formation after the census, the rural district's constituent villages were in Belharat Rural District of the former Miyan Jolgeh District of Nishapur County. In February 2023, the district was separated from the county to establish Miyan Jolgeh County. The existing Eshqabad and Ghazali Rural Districts, and the city of Eshqabad were made a part of the new Central District. Belharat District was established, with two rural districts, including the newly formed Salari Rural District.[2]
