Tup Aghaj, Kurdistan

Tup Aghaj (Persian: توپ آغاج, also Romanized as Top Aghaj and Tūp Āghāj)[3] is a city in the Central District of Bijar County, Kurdistan province, Iran. The city is populated by Turkics.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,172 in 517 households, when it was a village in Seylatan Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,498 people in 713 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,645 people in 541 households, by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[2]
