Etymology
From Middle Chinese 妙法蓮華經 (MC miᴇuH pɨɐp̚ len hˠua keŋ|keŋH), itself being a translation of Sanskrit सद्धर्म पुण्डरीक सूत्र (Saddharma-puṇḍarīka Sūtra).[1][2][3][4]
Equivalent to 妙法 (myōhō, “teachings of the Buddha”, literally “wondrous law”) + 蓮華 (renge, “lotus flower”) + 経 (kyō, “sutra”).
