Etymology

From Albanian pron-, suppletive verb, occurring in aorist and (its) participle as well as in the tempora and modi built on those stems. From Proto-Albanian *p(e)rē-(n-), from Proto-Indo-European *per- 'to bear, lead across'. Cognate to Ancient Greek περάω (peráō, to penetrate, pierce).[1]
