Lakota Teacher
Watch Kimimila Locke, a Lakota Language Teacher in the Denver Public School system, speak on her passion of teaching, and her life's mission of working to save this indigenous language. She jumped at the opportunity to teach young students Lakota, because in the past, her ancestors had been forbidden from speaking their language at school. And now, she had the freedom to transfer this knowledge to the next generation and help save the original language of her native people. Her advice to girls is to find your passion and to pursue it courageously, not matter what obstacles stand in your way.
