In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Sandygast is a Ghost/Ground-type Pokémon that evolves into the sand castle-resembling Palossand. This article will tell you how to catch it.

Steps

  1. 1
Identify where Sandygast can be found. It can be found on the beach area of Hano Grand Resort. You have a 20% chance of finding one at any time of the day. You'll find one between level 21 and level 24.
  2. 2
Go to Hano Grand Resort. It's located to the east of Heahea City on Akala Island. Use the Charizard Glide to get there faster, if you're not already there.

  3. 3
Go onto the beach area of Hano Grand Resort, where you'll find some sand clouds on the beach. Go into the sand clouds to encounter a Pokémon, which will be either Staryu or Sandygast. If you use up all the sand clouds without finding a Sandygast, exit and re-enter the area to respawn the sand clouds.
  4. 4
Once you find a Sandygast, catch it. Since it'll be fairly low level, you can use a Nest Ball for an easier catch. If it's nighttime, you can also use a Dusk Ball.

No, it cannot. The only Pokémon Staryu can SOS call is itself and Starmie.

Warnings

  • Given Sandygast's part-Ghost typing, you can't use False Swipe or Hold Back to weaken it unless you've used Foresight or Odor Sleuth on it as well.
