Filing a Complaint

If you feel that your rights as established by this act have been violated, visit the HUD website to file an official complaint. Enter your personal and contact information as prompted and write out the details of your complaint.[3]

    Call the Multifamily Housing Complaint Line to report a bad federal housing landlord. Tenants of government-subsidised housing can take action against their unfair landlords by phoning a toll-free HUD complaint line. This includes any landlords who mistreat or exploit their tenants for profit. To report a landlord who is failing to provide safe, livable housing for their tenants, call (800) MULTI-70 (800) 685-8470) / TTY (800) 432-2209.[4]
